Memory corrosion
Synaptic connections on canvas, Newburgh, NY, June 2023
In this series of 3 canvases, I imagine how visually paint the mechanisms behind memory corrosion.
Memory corrosion in the human brain refers to the degradation or loss of stored memories over time.
While the brain is an incredible organ capable of encoding and retaining vast amounts of information,
it is not immune to the effects of time and various factors that can lead to memory decay.
I represent structural and functional changes in our brain, such as the loss of neurons and synaptic connections
by using yarn and tape.
