Urban intersections
City maps on canvas, Aix-en-Provence, 2016
Despite traffic circles, stop signs, lights, and other methods, the management of urban intersections remains problematic.
Although modern cities have a unique character influenced by culture, geography, and population,
most of them share one main feature: busy intersections.
I sketched an abstracted optimal traffic control.
By juxtaposing these diverse elements, I seek to highlight the interconnectedness of communities and how they contribute to the vibrant mosaic of the city.
In creating these abstract topographies, I draw inspiration from the complex interactions and intersections that define New York's urban landscape.
By layering shapes and patterns, I aim to convey the multifaceted nature
of the city's communities, exploring how they evolve and adapt.
Through my artwork, I hope to celebrate the diversity and resilience of
New York's residents showcase the beauty and complexity of their shared experiences within the larger tapestry of the city.
