About the theme of "spectral density"
Different colors of noise refer to variations in the frequency distribution of sound.
White noise is often considered the most uniform because it has equal energy across all frequencies within the audible range, making it sound like static or hiss.
On the other hand, pink noise has equal energy per octave, which means that as you increase in frequency, the energy decreases, resulting in a sound that many people describe
as more balanced and less harsh.
I created a representation of pink and white noise on canvas using geometric and intricate strokes with acrylic paint, involving a combination of color, form, and texture.
The choice of noise color depends on the desired effect and the specific application, whether it's masking other sounds, aiding in sleep, or enhancing focus
The goal is to capture the essence of pink and white noise through color, form, and texture on canvas.
I use vibrant and contrasting colors, varying in intensity, to represent different energy levels across the spectrum and experiment with geometric shapes and lines, merging and diverging, to visualize the intricate patterns within spectral density.
I also allowed the painting to evoke a sense of movement and depth, capturing the complexity and richness of the frequency distribution in an abstract and visually compelling manner.
