FOLDING ART ON PAPER      LIINER SRSA SERIES      PHILIPPE HALABURDA STUDIO     2024

Diatonic function

About the theme of "diatonic function"

In crafting custom vintage record sleeves, I merge various artistic elements to create abstract compositions that pay homage to the essence of vinyl records.

Inspired by the diatonic function in the simplified tuning commonly used today,
I infuse harmonious arrangements of color tapes, photo magazine collages,
and pasted Rilsan collars onto the sleeves.

Each element evokes a sense of nostalgia and artistic expression, reminiscent
of the era when vinyl records were at their peak.

The use of color tapes allows me to explore the visual dynamics of the record sleeves, creating abstract shapes and patterns that capture the essence
of the music contained within.

These tapes are strategically arranged to convey a sense of movement
and rhythm, mirroring the flow of melodies and harmonies that resonate
with the diatonic function.

Through careful selection and placement, I aim to evoke emotions
and memories associated with the music, enhancing the overall listening experience.

Photo magazine collages add depth and dimension to the record sleeves, incorporating visual elements that complement the music and convey
its mood and atmosphere.

By layering images and textures, I create visual narratives that invite
the viewer to explore and interpret the artwork in their unique way.

Incorporating pasted Rilsan collars further enhances the tactile and aesthetic qualities of the sleeves, adding a tactile dimension that
invites interaction and engagement.

Together, these elements form a cohesive and immersive artistic experience that celebrates the beauty and nostalgia of vinyl records.
