HIDDEN WORDS ON PAPER THE BEELAS JOSIPP PROSE SERIES PHILIPPE HALABURDA STUDIO 2024
Unwritten poem
About the theme of "An unwritten poem"
In Josip Osti's poem "An Unwritten Poem," there is a profound sense of longing and introspection as if the poem captures an essence that has yet to be fully expressed or understood.
The unwritten nature of the poem represents both possibility and absence, hinting at thoughts and emotions lingering just below the surface,
waiting to emerge.
This tension between what is revealed and what remains concealed invites readers to reflect on the spaces between words, the unspoken emotions,
and the moments that are felt profoundly but go unarticulated.
Osti’s work highlights a powerful narrative of incompleteness and the human desire to give form to our most intimate feelings.
In my abstract mapping inspired by this poem, I use blue paint
and orange tape to mirror the interplay between hidden and visible.
The blue paint represents a sense of depth and introspection, evoking
the quiet, reflective quality of the poem’s unwritten nature.
It flows in organic, layered patterns across the paper, suggesting
the depths of unexpressed thoughts.
Meanwhile, the orange tape creates vibrant, geometric interruptions, representing fleeting moments of clarity or revelation amidst the abstract landscape.
Together, these colors and forms visually map Osti's poetic theme, where feelings are suggested but not fully defined, inviting viewers to interpret and connect with the piece personally.
