SOUNDS PATTERNS ON CANVAS      PHILIPPE HALABURDA STUDIO IN NEWBURGH, NY, USA     MARCH 2023

Assonance

About the theme of "assonance"

The goal of this series is to highlight the musicality
and meaning of the words without words.

Sound patterns help to divide a poem into sections.
The kind of repetition that most people associate
with poetry is the repetition of sounds,
particularly in rhyme.

But other sound patterns create additional meaning: alliteration, assonance, and onomatopoeia.

Alliteration, assonance, and onomatopoeia are all important sound patterns in poetry that can be used to create specific effects and convey meaning.

I imagined the visual aspects of these three types of repetition and how they can be harmonized to create an abstract wave-like composition.
