MAPPING JOURNEY ON PAPER      PALLOQUII REESE JOURNEY SERIES      PHILIPPE HALABURDA STUDIO     2025

Encrypted migrations

About the theme of "encripted migration"

In this series, I constructed visual narratives from a place of tension,
between control and impulse, silence and signal.

Starting with deep black paper, I treated the surface like a void, a space waiting to be mapped.

The act of building forms with tape and paint became a way to navigate internalized structures, both emotional and architectural.

I worked instinctively, responding to each mark in real time.

Blue bands acted as barriers or conduits, routes of compression, memory,
or movement, while fragments in red, lilac, and teal served as interruptions, distortions, or decoded signals.

The process mirrored how thoughts migrate under pressure:
structured one moment, scattered the next.

Throughout, I moved through restlessness, trying to break through visual static; vulnerability, as each layer revealed rather than concealed; clarity, when a composition clicked into coherence; and resolve, accepting that not every emotion, or form, needs complete translation.

The work sits between order and dissonance, a kind of encrypted terrain where emotion is not explained, but built.
