Importance of the grid in NYC

Abstract landscapes on canvas, New York, July 2017

I break the grid of the city to show the emotional chaos and the psychological influence NYC has on each of us.
As artist, I am sensitive to this urban psychology though architecture, city maps, and people.

I study the metropolitan areas and how their inhabitants interact with them.

You can see the different layers which represent the City: underground and ground transportation, colors of each subway line, and the structural grid of the 5 boroughs of NYC.
