ABSTRACT PLAN ON PAPER MY XAYYN LAND SERIES PHILIPPE HALABURDA STUDIO 2022
Unnatural land
About the theme of the "unnatural land"
In envisioning creative solutions for humanity to coexist harmoniously with the planet, I utilize acrylic paint and tape to craft abstract compositions that reflect the urgency
of the environmental crisis and the potential
for transformative change.
I depict the stark reality of ecological degradation with
Gray paint is used as the background, portraying polluted landscapes and desolate ecosystems.
The somber tones serve as a reminder of the pressing need for action and adaptation in the face of ecological collapse.
In contrast, green color tapes symbolize hope and regeneration, representing the innovative approaches
and sustainable practices that can help restore balance
to the natural world.
Using tape, I delineate pathways and boundaries that map out alternative modes of living and sharing the land.
These abstract "maps" highlight the interconnectedness of ecosystems
and communities, illustrating the potential for collaborative solutions prioritizing environmental stewardship and social equity.
Through the interplay of acrylic paint and tape, I aim to inspire viewers
to reimagine the possibilities for a more sustainable and equitable future.
By visually juxtaposing the challenges of environmental degradation with
the promise of innovative adaptation, I invite the audience to contemplate their role in shaping our world.
Ultimately, my abstract compositions serve as a call to action, encouraging individuals and communities to embrace creative solutions and work together to safeguard the planet for future generations.
