Abstract cognition on canvas, NYC, 2016

A wink to pop art

There is no unmediated access to anything, be it the soul, the natural world, or the built environment: you have to create it.

I believe everything is inter-connected.

America is the nation of pop culture and I felt I need to make a subtle allusion to it. Abstract expressionists artists were searching for trauma in the soul, while Pop artists were searching for traces of the same trauma in the mediated world of popular imagery.

On my side, I am trying to make these trauma connections literal in my art.
