POP ART ON CANVAS      PHILIPPE HALABURDA STUDIO IN BROOKLYN, NY, USA     SEPTEMBER 2016

A wink to Pop art

Do you see a wink to pop art?

Abstract cognition on canvas, NYC, 2016

America is the nation of pop culture and I felt I need to make a subtle allusion to it.
Abstract expressionists artists were searching for trauma in the soul, while Pop Art artists were searching
for traces of the same trauma in the mediated world of popular imagery.
On my side, I am trying to make these trauma connections literal in my art.

By juxtaposing these diverse elements, I seek to highlight the interconnectedness of communities and how they contribute to the vibrant mosaic of the city.

In creating these abstract topographies, I draw inspiration from the complex interactions and intersections that define New York's urban landscape.

By layering shapes and patterns, I aim to convey the multifaceted nature
of the city's communities, exploring how they evolve and adapt.

Through my artwork, I hope to celebrate the diversity and resilience of
New York's residents showcase the beauty and complexity of their shared experiences within the larger tapestry of the city.
