The square format is a deliberate choice rooted in the geometry of the built environment , the room, the block, the grid of the city. Unlike rectangular formats that impose a horizon and a hierarchy between top and bottom, the square resists that logic. Every edge carries equal weight. Every element within it must negotiate its position on equal terms. This matters for psychogeographical work. When mapping emotional or spatial experience, there is no natural top or bottom, no preferred direction of reading. The square enforces that neutrality, making it the most honest format for this kind of investigation. It also imposes compression. Rather than sprawling outward, the work must layer inward, building density, tension, and depth within a contained system. The square canvas is not a limitation. It is a pressure chamber for emotional and spatial data. All works are available from 20x20 to 60x60 inches.
