ADS GALLERY, NY, USA       JUNE 2024

Exploring fatherhood
through emotional maps

"Pater" features a selection
of Philippe Halaburda’s recent artworks, which were inspired by a profound reflection on the multifaceted experience of fatherhood.

The exhibition showcases a variety of abstract mixed media pieces on paper and canvas utilizing materials such as painting, yarn,
and color tape.

Relationship to psychogeography

The concept of psychogeography, which explores the influence of geographical environments on emotions and behaviors, plays a significant role in «Pater.»

These new paintings are representations
of personal experiences and navigate the emotional landscapes associated
with fatherhood.

These pieces act as maps, guiding viewers
through the emotional terrains that fathers traverse
– from joy and pride to anxiety and introspection.

The abstract forms
and vibrant textures evoke
fatherhood's unpredictable
and often tumultuous nature.

Using yarn and colored tape adds a tactile dimension, symbolizing the connections and boundaries that define paternal relationships.

"In creating ‘Pater,’ I wanted to capture fatherhood's emotional depth
and complexity."

This psychogeographical approach allows viewers to engage with the artworks on a deeper level, reflecting on how spaces and environments shape their own experiences
of fatherhood.
