Architectural psychology

INTERRELATIONSHIPS ON CANVAS      PHILIPPE HALABURDA STUDIO IN NEWBURGH, NY, USA     JANUARY 2022

About the theme of "architectural psychology"

Architectural psychology is the study of interrelationships between humans and their physical environment.

I sincerely believe nobody can escape architecture
and its effects: they are not immediately apparent
but gradually affect our personality and evolution.

Abstract maps can depict the influence of architecture
on the psyche through dynamic forms and colors.

Spatial urban or natural structures promote
some patterns of behavior.

For example, I searched for feelings, emotions,
and states of mind I would love to
 sense in architecture.

In this series, I  imagine how abstract designs can animate us
to specific ways of dealing with and using them.

Geometric shapes symbolize structures, mapping the impact of urban design on mental experiences. Interweaving lines represent the flow
of spaces, influencing emotional responses.

Varied colors evoke architectural styles, shaping distinct moods.

This abstract cartography visually conveys the intricate relationship between built environments and our psychological landscape.
