City in transition

Abstract exchanges on canvas, New York, July 2018

Cities are built to the rhythm of exchanges and displacements.
I discovered recently Transition, a social movement that brings together communities.
In many towns, people get together, finding groups, enthusiastic about the idea of together envisioning a future model for their town that will make it worth living in.
They bring original initiatives & new ideas to reimagine & rebuild our world.
That is to say, a process involving the community & aimed at ensuring resilience (capacity to absorb economic crises or ecological) of the city faced with the double challenge of peak oil and climate change.
I painted this combination of civic local engagement involved in the worldwide network.
