New York's shifting ethnic mosaic

Abstract cultures on canvas, New York, Bronx, July 2017

In this third series of paintings made in a Co-op city in the Bronx, I imagine how to show the diversity of New York
as a great crucible of people within one of the larger cities.
It remains a mosaic, a montage of neighborhoods where certain groups predominate.
I worked on representing traditional ethnic enclaves, sprawled amoeba-like, into adjacent communities.
These various colors and flavors of people continue to emerge and combine into different geometric potentials.
