Telomeres

About the theme of "telomeres"

Telomeres are the distinctive structures found at the ends of our chromosomes.

They are made from DNA sequences repeated over and over again.

A Telomere is also required for cell division,
allowing the chromosome to be replicated correctly.

I imagined the visual aspect of the multiple divisions
in this series.

As their length shortens, I use shorter pieces of tape to reflect the aging aspect.

Telomeres, the protective caps at the end of chromosomes, find expression in abstract art as symbols of temporal boundaries.

Geometric shapes and strokes mirror the intricate dance of telomeres, embodying the interplay of time and genetic integrity on canvas.

This series becomes a visual meditation on the beauty and fragility of life's fundamental building blocks.
