About the theme of "abyss"
I immerse myself in the enigmatic depths of the abyssal zone, a realm shrouded
in mystery and darkness beneath the ocean's surface.
With depths reaching approximately 20,000 feet, this territory is characterized by extreme environmental conditions, including frigid temperatures
and perpetual darkness.
Inspired by this hidden world's ethereal beauty and haunting tranquility,
I embark on a creative journey to capture its essence through abstract geometric compositions on paper.
To evoke the cold and desolate climate of the abyss, I harness the transformative power of color tapes, specifically selecting shades of blue and light green reminiscent of the icy depths of the ocean.
These tapes serve as my artistic medium, allowing me to convey the stark contrast between the chilling darkness of the abyssal zone and the occasional glimmers of light that pierce through its depths.
Through careful layering and arrangement, I create geometric shapes and patterns that mirror the intricate interplay of light and shadow in this remote underwater landscape.
As I weave together these wasabi tapes, I strive to capture the dual nature
of the abyssal zone—a place of profound beauty and untold mysteries.
Each composition is a reflection of the delicate balance between order
and chaos, light, and darkness inviting viewers to contemplate the profound depths of the ocean and the mysteries that lie within.
