INNER CARTOGRAPHIES       MIXED MEDIA ART SERIES ON PAPER       PHILIPPE HALABURDA       NEWBURGH, NY

2025

Statement of 2025

I continue exploring what I call “personal geography”, abstract, open-ended maps that reflect how emotional and psychological landscapes shape our perception of place.

These works don’t chart literal routes; instead, they trace the contours of our inner terrain with a playful, intuitive palette.

Working in mixed media on paper, I lean into spontaneity while respecting compositional structure.

Each gesture, whether it's tape, acrylic, or color, is a node in an emotional network, guiding the viewer through resonance rather than dictating a path.

My process honors both form and freedom. I build expressive, layered environments where visual systems emerge through balance and chance.

These are not maps of places, but of feeling; not diagrams of intention, but snapshots of psychological movement.

Much like a traveler drifting through unseen cities, navigating by personal memory and instinct, these works invite a journey inward.

They are flexible spaces, fluid, interpretive, and emotionally rich.
