Fragmentation, Memory & Spatial Tension
Philippe Halaburda — 2025 — New York
In 2025, seven series on canvas push psychogeographical mapping into new emotional and structural territory.
Each series begins from a different pressure point: fragmentation, memory, coordination, polarity, instability, trace, and builds outward through layered acrylic, tape, yarn, LEGO bricks, and found objects.
The works share a common posture: holding opposing forces in the same space without resolving them. Structure under pressure. Tension held, not released. All works are mixed media on square canvas.
Available for collectors, galleries, and institutional acquisitions.
Artistic process
and emotional structure
My work explores the relationship between structure and emotion through abstraction. Using acrylic, tape, yarn, and found objects, I build layered systems that reflect the tension between control and chaos, precision and instability.
The process is intuitive but intentional, often beginning with a sense of internal pressure or imbalance. From there, compositions emerge as visual networks: fragmented yet connected, structured yet in motion.
I'm interested in how visual form can carry psychological weight, how tension, repetition, and rupture can communicate what language cannot.
Through abstraction, I map emotional states into constructed spaces, not to explain them, but to make them felt.
Statement
in 2025
Seven series. Seven entry points.
One question never changes: what do the forces shaping our environments do to the people moving through them?
In 2025, that question is pressed harder, into systems that fracture, coordinates that drift, surfaces that hold the residue of what passed through them, polarities that refuse to cancel each other out.
The work is not about resolution. It never has been. It is about the moment just before, when the structure is still standing, but the pressure inside it is already moving.
