Orthoimagery
About the theme of "orthoimagery"
In my artistic exploration of orthoimagery, I utilize acrylic paint and tape to reimagine the fusion of photographic realism and geometric precision inherent
in these computer-generated images.
With acrylic paint, I capture the essence of aerial landscapes, layering colors
and textures to evoke the intricate patterns and topographical features seen
from above.
Bold strokes and dynamic brushwork convey the fluidity of natural forms,
while subtle gradients and shading create depth and dimension reminiscent
of the nuanced details found in orthophotos.
Tape becomes a crucial element in my compositions, serving as a structural framework that echoes the geometric qualities of maps.
I delineate boundaries and define the spatial relationships within the artwork, much like the process of geometric correction in orthoimagery.

As I layer paint over the tape, I blend realism with abstraction, blurring the lines between photographic representation and artistic interpretation.
The tape creates a grid-like pattern that organizes the canvas into distinct sections, representing orthophotos' uniform scale and precision.
I invite viewers to contemplate the intersection of art and technology
and how we perceive and navigate the world around us.
By merging the visual language of photography with the structural elements of maps, I aim to evoke a sense of awe and wonderment, encouraging viewers to explore the familiar landscapes of our planet from a new perspective.
Through the interplay of acrylic paint and tape, I seek to capture the essence
of orthoimagery as both a scientific tool and a source of artistic inspiration, inviting viewers to embark on a journey of exploration and discovery.
