GRAPHIC ART ON PAPER      SILVER FAARUQQLO SERIES      PHILIPPE HALABURDA STUDIO     2022

Sensation machines

About the theme of "sensation machines"

In envisioning a dystopian society mirroring the post-Trump America in economic free fall, I delve into the depths of societal decay and despair.

Through this series with stickers and tapes on paper, I explore the grim realities of a world where individuals lead wretched, dehumanized, and fearful lives, navigating a landscape of instability and inequality.

Each stroke reflects the systemic breakdown and moral decay
that permeates this imagined society, capturing the visceral emotions
of despair and disillusionment.

Despite the darkness that pervades these artworks, I aim to infuse them with
a glimmer of hope for the future.

Through subtle hints of resilience and resistance, I invite viewers to contemplate the possibility of redemption and renewal even in the face of overwhelming adversity.

I find myself drawn to both downcycling and upcycling approaches within
the realm of recycling art.

Downcycling involves transforming materials into products of lesser value, while upcycling entails repurposing materials into items of higher value
or quality.

In my practice, I use both approaches, finding unexpected associations
and creative possibilities in repurposing my waste materials.

Through this ongoing exploration, I continue to push the boundaries of
what is possible within the realm of recycling art, discovering new avenues
for creative expression and environmental stewardship.
