Supernormal stimuli

About the theme of "supernormal stimuli"

Supernormal stimuli are exaggerated versions of natural stimuli that trigger
an exaggerated response in living beings.

In my artistic representation using color tapes and ribbons, I explore the concept by creating geometric compositions that amplify sensory input beyond what
is typically encountered in nature.

Each ribbon and tape represents a heightened aspect of stimuli, whether color, shape, or pattern, designed to evoke an intense and exaggerated response
from the viewer.

I create compositions that captivate the senses and provoke strong emotional reactions by incorporating vibrant colors and dynamic shapes.

The exaggerated stimuli depicted in the artwork serve as a metaphor for the modern world's inundation with hyper-stimulating content, from advertisements to social media, that can overwhelm our senses and hijack our attention.

Through the interplay of ribbons and tape, I aim to draw attention to
the impact of supernormal stimuli on our perception and behavior.

Despite the allure of supernormal stimuli, my artwork also serves as a reminder of the importance of moderation and balance in our interactions with the world.

While these exaggerated stimuli may elicit robust responses, they can also lead to desensitization and disconnection from the natural world.

Through my compositions, I encourage viewers to reflect on the role
of supernormal stimuli in their lives and to strive for greater mindfulness
and awareness in their sensory experiences.
