ABSTRACT FOOD RECIPE ON PAPER      A WARM SHHIMIZUU SERIES      PHILIPPE HALABURDA STUDIO     2022

HFSS food

About the theme of "HFSS food"

In my artistic endeavor to explore the relationship between food and health through abstract art, I've embraced warm colors to convey the ailments associated with consuming high-fat, salt, and sugar (HFSS) foods.

Using acrylic paint and tape, I've crafted a series that serves as a poignant commentary on the prevalence of junk food in American society and its impact
on public health.

Warm colors such as reds, oranges, and yellows dominate the compositions, symbolizing the fiery effects of ailments like obesity, heart disease, and diabetes that often result from excessive consumption of HFSS foods.

Each abstract piece in the series reflects the tumultuous internal landscape of
the body grappling with the consequences of poor dietary choices.

Dynamic brushstrokes and geometric forms evoke feelings of unease and discomfort, mirroring the physical and emotional toll of ailments associated
with HFSS consumption.

The tape serves as a structural element, delineating boundaries and creating
a sense of containment that underscores the struggle to break free from unhealthy eating habits.

Through this series, I aim to highlight the urgent need for initiatives to tackle obesity and promote healthier food choices in American society.

By harnessing the power of abstract art to evoke visceral reactions and spark conversations, I hope to inspire viewers to reconsider their relationship with food and embrace a more balanced and nourishing approach to nutrition.

As the warm colors pulse and swirl across the canvas, they are a powerful reminder of the importance of prioritizing health and well-being in
our daily lives.
