AS | ARTISTS STUDIOS presents "Alchemy: from lead to gold", the endless quest of transforming one base metal into something far more valuable. The illusion that lead can be reconfigured into gold has existed since the era of Ancient Egypt. This timeless conviction surfaces here, throughout an array of paintings, sculptures, photographs, and collage made by 13 artists where colors, textures, and materials differ and complement one another.

​New Land is a collective show curated by Bascha Mon. Whether our work employs recognizable objects or is totally abstract, we are united under the Flag of New Land.

There are 288 images in a grid.

All the Flags in the adjacent gallery hung Salon Style to the ceiling will make an amazing and colorful display of varied media and artistic approaches. They are meant to be as diverse as all the migrants and creatures wishing entry to the New Land.

Produced by Heart for Art, the event happens in Long Island City at the Austell Place located 47-11 Austell Place.

For this exhibition, I show two site-specific installations called Urban Emotion Representation. 

Compounded of recycled tubes used to protect things while stocked or transported, each assemblage creates by itself concepts of the urban experience.

FLOW is comprised of multiple immersive art installations and performances created in partnership with Circular City Week New York. Work from artists like Cynthia Alberto, Philippe Halaburda and Irene Mamiye completely transformed the raw space and led to an exciting evening of song, dance, and art.

FLOW will run through the entirety of Circular City week which ends on March 10, 2019.

A Holiday reception to benefit MUSC's.

Take part to the Academics, Research & Treatment of mental health gallery fundraiser from 6 - 11 pm.

Walk among the art and enjoy live music, beer/wine and prepared appetizers and desserts. Several of the artists will be in attendance to meet and greet. 

On December 16th, the Gallery is hosting a charity fundraising reception to benefit the mental health outreach initiatives for the Medical University of South Carolina ("MUSC")'s department of Psychiatry

Doors to the event open at 7pm, but an extra VIP hour from 6-7pm -- which comes complete with an exclusive signature cocktail and an additional raffle ticket -- is available.  

All proceeds from VIP, event and raffle tickets -- as well as 10% of any art sold during the event -- will go directly to the Medical University of South Carolina’s Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and the Institute of Psychiatry to support the important department-wide initiatives of patient care, education, and cutting edge research.
