Collective exhibition: Beauty on paper

New York, USA

Saturday, November 11, 2017

Exhibition from November 11 to December 16, 2017.

Opening: Saturday November 11, 2017.

I will present my last series called "Discover the ideal city" inspired by New York for the Art Mora Artist Show. These works on paper are 26 x 20 with paper cut done during winter 2017. The influence of life on topography is a topic that has remained largely unexplored. I have imagined journeys through systematic spaces to predict psychological effects of an urban design before anything is built. This could be used as a topographic sketch for an ideal city...

Solo exhibition: Cardboards

FRG Objects & Design / Art

Saturday, August 05, 2017

Join me on Saturday, August 5 at 5:30 p.m. to celebrate the opening of a new exhibition of contemporary paintings on cardboard by France/NYC-based artist Philippe Halaburda.

The artist's highly unusual paintings on cardboard are inspired by his 2015 move to New York City; when he was short on funds and far from the familiarity of his studio in France, Philippe realized that flattened packages, tubes used for carpet or fabrics, and even cereal boxes would provide an exciting deviation from traditional shapes and canvas surfaces. These works are on view through the end of September.

Collective exhibition: Réalités Nouvelles

Paris, France

Wednesday, October 12, 2016

I have been selected to pariticipate to the next "Réalités Nouvelles" art fair in winter 2017. The exhbited artwork is "Sarran Laxman" dated in 2016.

The Salon des Réalités Nouvelles is an association of artists and an art exhibition in Paris, focusing on abstract art.

The exhibition takes place annually in October and ranks among the top Parisian art salons.

The expression “réalités nouvelles” --“new realities” -- was penned in 1912 by the poet Guillaume Apollinaire to designate abstraction as the form best suited to expressing modern reality.

Current abstract trends represented include allusive figuration as well as conceptual, concrete, geometric, gestural, haptic, lyrical, and nominalist abstraction. Painters, sculptors, and installation artists show one work each; artists showing smaller format work on paper – such as prints and drawings – are allowed two or three works apiece.

Since 2008, under the leadership of its president Olivier di Pizio, the Salon has expanded its exhibition scope to include a series of “Hors les Murs” (“Beyond the Walls”) shows in France and internationally (Beldrade in 2013 and Beijing in 2014).

The association’s governing committee, presided by Olivier di Pizio, is composed of the following artist-members.
