Embracing Small Art: Rochester Contemporary Art Center's 6x6x2024 Exhibition

I'm excited to announce that one of my artworks will be part of the upcoming exhibition at the Rochester Contemporary Art Center (RoCo). The exhibition, titled 6x6x2024, runs from June 1 to July 21, 2024, and promises to be a vibrant showcase of small-scale art from around the globe.

What is 6x6x2024?

6x6x2024 is not just any art show; it is an international small art phenomenon that has captivated artists and art lovers alike for years. This unique exhibition features artworks measuring 6 inches by 6 inches, making it a celebration of creativity within a compact format. Each year, thousands of pieces are submitted by artists of all ages and backgrounds, creating a diverse and dynamic collection that spans various styles, media, and subjects.

The Exhibition Experience

Walking into the Rochester Contemporary Art Center during 6x6x2024 is like entering a visual feast. The walls are lined with rows upon rows of 6-inch squares, each telling its own story. The small size of the pieces encourages viewers to get up close and personal, discovering the intricate details and unique perspectives that each artist brings to their work.

This year’s exhibition promises to be no different, with contributions from local, national, and international artists. The beauty of 6x6x2024 lies in its democratic nature; artworks are displayed anonymously, identified only by a number until sold. This anonymity allows viewers to appreciate the art for its own sake, free from any biases associated with the artist’s name or reputation.

My Contribution to 6x6x2024

I'm thrilled to share that my artwork is part of this year's exhibition. Being part of 6x6x2024 is a unique honor, and it’s exciting to think about my piece being displayed alongside such a wide array of artistic talent. Creating within the 6x6 format posed a delightful challenge, pushing me to think creatively and concisely about how to express my vision within such a limited space.

Supporting the Arts

6x6x2024 is more than just an art exhibition; it's also a fundraiser for the Rochester Contemporary Art Center. Each piece of art is available for purchase at a fixed price of $20, making original art accessible to a broad audience and allowing collectors to take home a unique piece. All proceeds go towards supporting RoCo’s mission to foster contemporary art and culture in the community.

Visit the Exhibition

If you’re in the Rochester area between June 1 and July 21, 2024, I highly recommend stopping by the Rochester Contemporary Art Center to experience 6x6x2024. Whether you’re an art aficionado, a casual admirer, or someone looking to start their art collection, this exhibition offers something for everyone. Plus, it’s a fantastic way to support the arts and discover new talents.

Final Thoughts

Participating in 6x6x2024 has been an incredibly rewarding experience for me as an artist. The exhibition embodies the spirit of inclusivity and celebration of art in its many forms, and I am proud to be a part of it. I look forward to seeing how viewers connect with my work and the works of so many other talented artists.

Mark your calendars and join us at RoCo for this international small art phenomenon. I can’t wait to share my piece with you and to see the incredible diversity of creativity on display.
